9” Skinny Eel

The 9” Skinny Eel features a more slender, true eel-shaped profile that swims with an irresistible natural action predators can’t ignore. Its streamlined body cuts through the water and mimics a wide variety of prey from sand eels and American eels to other long, narrow forage species like ballyhoo and halfbeaks, making it effective across multiple fisheries and conditions.

This bait excels when fish are keyed in on slimmer prey or when a more realistic, inviting presentation outperforms bulkier profiles. Despite its narrow shape, the 9” Skinny Eel draws aggressive strikes from quality fish, offering a high confidence option when predators are feeding with intent.

The 9” Skinny Eel is best fished where you know large predators are lurking and waiting to ambush prey. Work it along the bottom with controlled jigging motions, allowing it to swim and glide naturally between lifts. The streamlined shape keeps it moving cleanly through the water, especially in current with its hunting ability, making it ideal for fishing structure. The 9” Skinny Eel is equally effective when slid along current eddies and edges. Cast up-current and let it swim naturally with the flow, maintaining light contact as it tracks the edge predators positioned to ambush will track it down and hammer it. 

The 9” Skinny Eel incorporates the same hook slot channel built into the bait that’s found throughout the entire range of lures we make. The hook slot makes rigging absolutely effortless. No more issues having a bait rigged a little off anymore. It also adds an area where scent can be added to the bait if desired. The hook slot allows the hook to be exposed more when a fish hits making the hookup ratio much better by increasing the hook gap between the bait and hook point. Lastly and most importantly it greatly increases the durability and longevity that the lure bodies last. They will not tear as easy as a lure without the slot.
